As I stated on my main web page, these screensavers are quite old, and I can't guarantee that they will function very well on more recent systems. Anyhow, there has been thousands of downloads through the years and I have only had positive feedback from users, and I have noticed, to my surprise, that people still want them. For this reason I will continue to keep them available.
You may wonder if I will make any new screensavers. The answer is "most likely, not". The reason for this is that modern screensavers are much more complex programs, with lots of three-D effects, virtual landscapes and so on. The making of modern screensavers is a job for experienced game programmers, and I have neither the time nor the necessary knowledge for that. Besides this, my artistic talents are somewhat limited. This means that you can look on this site as a kind of "software museum" if you like to!

So what's all this, then?

Well, it's a collection of screen savers. They have various themes: archeological, historical, fantasy. Some are based on copperprints or xylographic prints from the seventeenth to nineteenth centuries, others have other sources, e.g. my own fantasy. Some are animated, some are not. You can have a closer view if you look at the menu.

How much are they, then?
They are copyrighted free software. This means that you can download them and use them as much as you like without paying any fee. They are not Open Source-stuff, so you won't have any code. They are copyrighted, which means that you can't use material from them in your own works without my permission.

Is this some kind of religious stuff?

No. In spite of the title of this page there are no religious or philosophical messages whatsoever in or connected to these screen savers. In fact, there are no messages at all. (If you should find any, please notify me).

System Requirements

These screen savers will run without any problems on Windows 95, NT4 and 98. For reasons unknown, some of the animations and erasing effects show a deterioration in performance on Windows 2000, but they will run anyhow. They haven't been tested on Windows ME, and at the time of writing this, Windows XP hasn't been released (They run very well on XP too, but they havent been tested on Vista yet). To install them, just unzip them and place the two files in your System32 or System map. (To do this, you'll need an unzip utility, like Power Archiver or WinZip).

Disclaimer

You install and use these screen savers on your system entirely at your own risk. The author shall not be responsible for any kind of damages or losses ( direct or consequential) that may occur by usage of these programs. For obvious reasons, it's impossible for me (or anyone else) to guarantee that they are free from viruses. I can only say that I do to my best to keep my disks nice and tidy and run a virus-check every day ( I think everyone should do that). Unfortunately, this doesn't guarantee anything. (By saying this, I do not imply anything ).

Notice

Most of the animations in these screen savers have some kind of random control. That means that the results and behaviour of the savers may vary from system to system and from time to time. As a result, it may take time before you get a complete rendering of backdrop pictures of erasing screen savers. It seems that some of the savers perform better if the color depth is set to 16 or 24 bpp instead of 32, but this is also system dependent.

Why do I do this?
I don't know.
