Runic Eraser

The Runic Eraser may turn out to require more system power than your computer can deliver to run smoothly, but it will run one way or another on most systems. It consists of 24 animated "runic objects" that erase the screen and reveal a backdrop image. The image shows a Viking Age golden plate with fantastic ornaments and carvings. The original source for this picture is a black-and-white xylographic print from "The History of Sweden from Pagan Times to our Days" by Oscar Montelius, printed in 1876. This print has been in the 3D-boiler and and gone through graphic enhancers several times before a satisfying result was achieved. The plate itself was found in Gotland (an island in the Baltic Sea) and I think, but I don't know for sure, that its present home is the Historical Museum in Visby, Gotland.
